About my practice

For the past ~20 years I have worked as a consulting part-time CFO for more than thirty companies.  During that time I have worked with venture capital backed technology companies and family owned businesses helping them solve real world problems and raising over $100M in equity financing.  Some of the services that I have provided follow:

 Interim CFO activities

- Serve as trusted advisor to the CEO- it is true that it is “lonely at the top.”  I often prove an opportunity to discuss critical topics which may not be appropriate in a company wide, or even executive team, forum.
- Budgeting- detailed forecasts of revenues, expenses, and balance sheet items for budget vs. actual comparisons.
- Cash Flow planning, Treasury and Banking- projecting cash flow requirements and management of cash.
- Financial strategy- based on the companies needs and resources, determining what the appropriate (and available) source of funds and timing required.
- Accounting management and reporting- manage the accounting function and personnel, supervise operations, review and analyze financial statements.
- Board support- prepare analysis for board, and present to board.
- Work with outside service providers- bankers, lawyers, and insurance providers.
- Participate as active team member with other company executives.
- Investor relations- work closely with Venture, Angel, and other investors

 Project support
- M&A support- including negotiation, due diligence, and integration.
- Financial modeling and what-if analysis.
- Systems Implementation and support- deciding to make a systems change, deciding which system to adopt, and making the conversion is a big job.  We can help.

The focus of my consulting practice is to provide solutions for companies that need a senior level CFO, but don’t need one on a full-time basis.
